Starting from the top of my 2 page spread I first included the two pictures I wanted in there originally. This being the plate of ceviche which was the main focus of my interview and copy and the home chef that was interviewed. I also knew that I wanted 3 columns. I formatted the pictures as a they did not stretch or distort image quality and kept the gutter in mind. I then added in my copy along with a heading and a secondary coverage on the recipe. For my copy I ran into the issue in which words would cut of at the end of a column and hyphenate to the next line. To resolve this I added spacing in order for words to be fully included on one line. The secondary coverage was made easily by including a square shape with a lighter orange and a border that made it seem distinct and separated. The background gradient was mad by myself by selecting different colors in the gradient swatch section and allowing for their to be a smooth orange transition. Finally I found that there was room in my main image to include two more pictures and so I chose a picture of a wok aflame and the pouring of Huancaina sauce on potatoes while including a border around the images to highlight distinction.
